Onam Celebration

On August 21, Holy Family Higher Secondary School in Muttom, Cherthala, hosted a vibrant, eco-friendly Onam celebration. Students arrived at 9:15 AM dressed in traditional Kerala attire for the mandatory half-day event. The festivities featured high-energy traditional games like Uriyadi (pot-breaking), Vadamvali (tug-of-war), and Chakkil Ottam (sack races), followed by a grand Onasadya feast. Upholding a strict green protocol, the school completely banned single-use plastics and paper plates, requiring all students to bring their own reusable steel plates and glasses from home before the joyous event successfully concluded at 1:00 PM.
