Founded in 1921 as 'Thirukudumba Vilasam Primary School', Holy Family Lower Primary Girls School has stood as a cornerstone of girls' foundational education in Cherthala for over a century. Located in the heart of Cherthala town, directly facing the west side of St. Mary's Forane Church, Muttom, the school holds the proud distinction of being the only Lower Primary institution dedicated exclusively to girls in the entire Cherthala Sub-district.
Serving students from LKG and UKG (pre-primary, introduced in 2017) through Classes I to IV, the school combines the time-honoured values of its founding community with a modern, activity-based pedagogical approach. As part of St. Mary's Forane Church Corporate Schools, students benefit from shared expertise, resources and a common commitment to holistic, values-driven education.
To be a centre of excellence in lower primary education where every girl child discovers her potential, develops strong values and acquires the foundational skills to thrive in a rapidly changing world — with confidence, curiosity and compassion.
To provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment for girls from LKG through Class IV; to deliver quality, activity-based instruction aligned with the Kerala State curriculum; to celebrate every child's unique abilities; and to partner with families and the community in building the moral, intellectual and creative foundations that serve students for a lifetime.

Welcome to Holy Family Lower Primary Girls School — an institution with over a century of proud service to the girl child and the community of Cherthala.
We believe that the early years of schooling are the most decisive in a child's life. Every lesson, every interaction and every moment of play here is designed to build not just academic skills, but character, confidence and a love of learning that will sustain our students throughout their lives.
As the only school in Cherthala Sub-district dedicated exclusively to the lower primary education of girls, we embrace this responsibility with deep commitment. We are proud of our achievements — in arts, science, mathematics and beyond — and even prouder of the generations of women whose journey of learning began here.
I invite you to join our family and experience the Holy Family LPGS difference.
