Holy Family Higher Secondary School (HSS), Muttom, Cherthala — Government Code 4061 — achieved Higher Secondary status in the year 2000 under the management of Rev. Fr. Dr. John Thekkanath, following a collaborative civic initiative led by former Cherthala MLA Shri. A. K. Antony. Smt. Eliamma Scaria served as the first official Principal of the HSS section.Mr. N J Varghese rendered 20yrs of dedicated service as the Principal of HSS followed by the distinguished service of Mr. V H Antony.
Today, under Principal Smt. Lissa Kurian (MA, B.Ed), the school offers two well-structured pre-university streams — Science (Biology and Computer Science groups) and Commerce — to 477 students across Plus One and Plus Two. A team of 17 specialist HSST (Higher Secondary School Teachers) guide students through the Kerala State Higher Secondary Board curriculum with dedicated Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and Computer Science laboratory facilities.
The school has achieved a 93% pass rate in the Kerala State Higher Secondary Board Examinations (Plus Two), with 40 students earning full A+ grades across all subjects from 239 who appeared in 2025–26. The HSS section shares the fully integrated historic campus of Holy Family Institutions, Muttom, with access to state-of-the-art laboratories, Central Resource Library and Smart Digital Classrooms.
