For over 162 years, Holy Family High School (Government Code 34038) has stood as a pillar of educational excellence in the Alappuzha region. Located in Muttom, Cherthala, and managed by St. Mary's Forane Church Schools, our institution is dedicated to illuminating minds and shaping the future of our coastal community through accessible, high-quality education.
Our legacy began on June 1, 1864, when Monsignor Joseph Valamangalam founded the institution as "Thirukkudumbavilasam Lower Primary School." Originally established as a co-educational primary school to bring formal learning to the area, the school transitioned into an all-boys educational facility in 1921 to meet the changing needs of the era. Marking its centenary in 1964, the institution was upgraded to Upper Primary (UP) status under the management of Rev. Fr. Dominic Choikkara, with Shri. Joy Sebastian serving as the inaugural Headmaster. The school reached another major milestone in 1976 when it attained full High School (HS) status under Monsignor Joseph Panikulam, welcoming Rev. Sr. Mary Rachel as the first Headmistress.
Today, Holy Family High School offers a comprehensive Kerala State Board curriculum for Classes 1 through 10, encompassing the Lower Primary, Upper Primary, and High School sections. Under the leadership of Headmistress Smt. Mini M. (MA, B.Ed) and a dedicated team of 54 faculty members, we proudly serve a vibrant student body of 1,518 learners.
We maintain a steadfast commitment to academic rigour, which is consistently reflected in our 100% pass rates at the Kerala State SSLC Board Examinations. Most recently, during the 2025–26 academic year, 261 of our students appeared for the SSLC exams, with 15 outstanding students securing full A+ grades across all subjects. At Holy Family High School, we continue our century-and-a-half-old mission of nurturing academic achievement, personal growth, and strong community values in every student who walks through our doors.
To cultivate an intellectually vibrant, technologically adept and morally grounded generation, transforming students into empathetic leaders who serve society with integrity, dedication and excellence.
To deliver rigorous, modern academic coursework that balances advanced science, technology and humanities with critical thinking; to create a secure, welcoming campus environment that builds personal discipline, artistic creativity and physical strength; and to actively engage with the surrounding community through volunteer service, environmental restoration and social awareness.

Welcome to Holy Family High School, Muttom — an institution that has stood as a beacon of knowledge and values for the Cherthala community for over 162 years. From our humble beginnings in 1864, we have grown into a fully government-aided school serving over 1,500 students across our LP, UP and HS sections.
Our school is built on the conviction that education is not merely the transfer of knowledge, but the shaping of character, confidence and compassion. Every child who walks through our gates is a potential leader, and it is our privilege and responsibility to nurture that potential with care, rigour and values.
I warmly invite students, parents and the community to be part of our ongoing journey of excellence and growth.
